Speaking at the Plenary Session (May 26), Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Khac Dinh emphasized that the Vietnamese delegation highly appreciated the efforts, initiatives and results of Russia and the countries of and countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of sustainable management of natural resources, environmental protection, biodiversity, adaptation and response to climate change.

          Viet nam welcomes and appreciates the topics of the Congress that are topical and have practical significance to the international community.

           According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, as one of the countries heavily affected by climate change and facing the degradation of biodiversity and other challenges, Viet nam has been actively completing the legal corridor for activities of ecological environment protection, climate change adaptation... Viet Nam actively participates in joint efforts to respond to climate change and protect the environment.

             In particular, at this Congress, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh proposed that parliaments strengthen the review and completion of the national legal framework, facilitating the formulation and implementation of policies to transform the economy towards green recovery, circular economy; The Parliament strengthens supervision of the Government in formulating a roadmap for economic transformation in the context of the post-Covid-19 pandemic and climate change response, harmonizing requirements and development conditions and practices of each country. In addition, more developed countries need to continue to take the lead in implementing their commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and providing technical, financial and technological support to developing countries to improve their resilience to climate change.

          Viet Nam also proposes to strengthen international cooperation and parliamentary cooperation based on the principles of fairness and responsibility between countries and international organizations in order to connect, supplement and support resources, and speed up the technology transfer, experience sharing, technical and financial support; focusing on reasonable budget allocation, encouraging the development of public-private partnerships, taking the transformation of the sustainable development model as the foundation, ensuring the implementation of the climate commitments of the countries.
